The Digital Tameside team currently comprises of the eLearning team, who are based at the Council Offices, Ashton-under-Lyne.
The focus of the eLearning Team is to improve the use of ICT in education to raise standards of attainment, achievement and enjoyment. The consultants in the team work with schools on all aspects of improving the use of ICT from helping school leaders develop strategic plans, negotiating staff training and delivering in class support. These processes are worked out with schools through twice yearly ICT Account Manager meetings (for more details, see the link below).
The team also develop projects to support schools such as the Teaching and Learning Website, Video Conferencing, Shaka Tameside (a social networking site for Tameside school children) and the Key Stage 2 Computer Passport.
The structure of the team covers both primary and secondary education with specialist consultants for inclusion and the discrete subject of ICT. The whole team is supported by Karen Collins, the Training Support Officer.
